Join IHE and Counterculture Partnership LLP, exploring the new Mental Health Strategy Guidance for Board Members developed for Independent Higher Education.
Mental health is an increasingly important area of board oversight, sitting across risk management, institutional strategy, student experience, staff wellbeing, partnerships and regulatory compliance. This new guidance has been designed to help governing bodies understand their responsibilities, assure themselves that appropriate systems are in place, and take a proportionate approach that reflects the size and context of individual providers.
The authors of the guidance will walk through the key themes, and discuss how to use the guidance to strengthen effective oversight of mental health strategy by board members. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how the guidance can be applied in different provider settings.
This session is particularly relevant for:
- Board members and governors
- Heads of Institution and senior leaders
- Clerks and governance professionals
- Student services and quality leaders
- Those with responsibility for institutional mental health strategy and assurance
Whether your provider has a standalone mental health strategy or embeds mental health within wider institutional planning, this session will help you understand the expectations of effective governance and how to use the new guidance in practice.
