As part of IHE’s 2026 training offer, we are delighted to once again open registration for our student complaints and appeals session. The session will be led by Jonathon Lodwick and Savannah Ogunbo from IHE Partner Bevan Brittan.
This session will provide a legal and practical overview of handling student complaints and appeals. It will explore why robust systems and clear approaches are essential, clarify the distinction between complaints and appeals, and guide participants through effective procedures for managing both.
Drawing on their specialist expertise, the speakers will cover key principles of good decision-making, highlight common issues that arise in practice, and share practical tips to support institutions in navigating these processes confidently. The session will also examine routes for further action, including the role of the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) and litigation, as well as how institutions can learn from complaints to strengthen their practices.
A certificate of attendance will be provided to those who attend.
