Immigration series: managing the recruitment of international students

International student recruitment needs to consider much more than academic capability. This workshop will help providers identify the key risks in international student recruitment, vital now with metrics tighter around visa refusals, non-enrolments and non-continuation. The session will explore the way risk impacts different types of students across all visa nationals, and how considered and connected strategies can position providers to protect their student sponsor licence.
We will be joined by our IHE supporter, Sable International, who will deliver this session for us.
We will explore:
- how risk differs for different types of students
- supporting students to avoid common errors in visa applications.
- tools for spotting fraudulent documents
- assessing the risk of non-enrolment and non-completion at application
- tackling tricky risks such as students who have studied before, asylum cases and students who have been previously refused a visa.
